Thread: Massive error in Software Center

i'm using ubuntu 11.10 , ran massive problem trying install anonymity software jondo. not familiar ubuntu, having used few months on 1 of 2 computers own. downloaded software repository jondo , ran using ubuntu software center. software center, had been slow load, lagged unacceptably after clicked "install". "install" button became "installing" accompanying progress bar, became "install" again. pressed "install" again, after "installing" tab appeared. clicked on , showed me 2 copies of jondo being installed, 1 queued after other. canceled second, after returning previous tab, appeared both copies had stopped installing. assumed installation had failed , restarted computer in hope software center run more quickly.

after rebooting noticed jondo had in fact installed, surprising. started fine later froze. rebooted again make jondo go away. time after rebooting got error on top taskbar, saying following:

"an error occurred, please run package manager right-click menu or apt-get in terminal see wrong. error message was: 'unknown error: '<type 'exceptions. systemerror'>' (e:the package jondo needs reinstalled, can't find archive it.)'. means installed packages have unmet dependencies"

package manager not working @ , gives me same error message. update manager says "not updates can installed" , offers me "partial upgrade", after gives me following message:

"remove package in bad state: package 'jondo' in inconsistent state , needs reinstalled, no archive can found it. want remove package continue?"

have clicked "yes" several times, update manager nothing , corrupted jondo software remains partially installed, rendering package manager inoperative. have tried use software center uninstall jondo, when open .deb software repository, "reinstall" button , no "remove" button, though tells me it's "installed". jondo not listed under "history". can find no way remove file. can suggest solutions @ all?

open terminal , type this:
