Thread: Can't Log In! 11.10 - GNOME

hey!
haven't used ubuntu couple of years now, installed 11.10, , love it!!!
problem is, after week of (nearly) bug-free operation, can no longer log in! password correct. when type in in login screen under correct username, purple screen, little glimpse of terminal, i'm @ login screen.

more info:
can log in fine terminals 1-6, can without precious gui. also, can log in guest, interface messed -no dock , windows cannot moved, closed, or resized. have use terminal shut down guest sessions. last session able log had buggy behavior alt-tab menu. using gnome. thing changed in last session set mysql start automatically on startup.

want save day? i'm pretty resigned setting fresh install, insight nice. also, if i'm posting in wrong place let me know

i had same issue upgrading 11.04 11.10. try delete ~/.xauthority file. fixed me.

best thing rename xauthority.bak or something. try again.

Joomal 3.6.3 update error - PHP temporary folder is not set - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi -- after after loading files of joomla 3.5 program, went site , tried open complete installation. got message: fatal error: require_once(): failed opening required '/homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/libraries/import.legacy.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php5.5') in /homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/includes/framework.php on line 15 ran fpa program. hope way make available here. http://gnustories.org/fpa-en.php winku your domain name seems not working - not showing fpa report php page holding page generated isp (1 & 1) the easier way generate report fpa script , copy reply of thread (that intended way done). suggest review instructions on generating report makes format suitable forum.
