Thread: Help Help !! Am I the only one with 11.10 dual monitor problems

my first post on matter shows either 1 dual monitor problems or no 1 knows enough solve issue ??

since moving alienware mx11 11.04 11.10, dual monitors (up date nvidia drivers) in gnome classic have stopped working. never had problems before.

if try go dual (extended desktop) :

1) both monitors recognised
2) laptop computer shows desktop
3) external monitor shows white background
4) both desktop show kind of generic , unusable menu has nothing menu bar in single monitor mode.
5) have no applets showing on top right side of screens

really annoying. sure easy fix in know...

suspect /etc/x11/xorg.conf somehow not right ?

install still have /etc/x11/xorg.conf file? if so, must have upgraded , never clean install.. might worth trouble starting clean install (you can use deja-dup files in home directory) , follow 1 of tutorials out there avoid confusion.

know it's not real helpful should closer working.
