Thread: Ubuntu 11.10 slow on i7?

hi there i'm new linux , i've installed ubuntu 11.10 on computer today. works fine, hardware detected , functional etc.. problem fact when move window starts lagging badly; looked @ processor usage while moved window , went 80% , waaaay much.

processor i7 860 3.4ghz, turbo boost , hyper threading.
graphics card nvidia gt240 1gb
, got 8gbs of ram ddr3 @3333mhz
x64bit system

how can fix problem? installed , activated nvidia driver detected didn't make difference. got rid of it, went on actual nvidia website , got official linux driver card. problem is .run file , have open terminal - when says have quit 'x server' have no clue or how stop it, doing quick google came bunch of ctrl+alt+1 options etc... nothing helped
, don't think graphics driver problem, mean why processor usage go high then?

ubuntu can't use if starts lagging. i'm new forums , appreciated.

Joomal 3.6.3 update error - PHP temporary folder is not set - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi -- after after loading files of joomla 3.5 program, went site , tried open complete installation. got message: fatal error: require_once(): failed opening required '/homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/libraries/import.legacy.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php5.5') in /homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/includes/framework.php on line 15 ran fpa program. hope way make available here. http://gnustories.org/fpa-en.php winku your domain name seems not working - not showing fpa report php page holding page generated isp (1 & 1) the easier way generate report fpa script , copy reply of thread (that intended way done). suggest review instructions on generating report makes format suitable forum.
