Thread: Video cards and battery life issue

hi,
find ubuntu 11.10 on laptop energy consuming. battery life dropped 2:50 when on 11.04 1:50 now, fan runs @ high speed sometimes.

however, if add radeon.modeset=0 grub boot parameter, battery life gets little longer, 40 minutes, , fan issue fixed. guess has hybrid graphics.

don't understand parameter mean. explain me ?

appreciate help.

Error when I try to record application simulation in Adobe Presenter 8

hello, have 30 day trial of adobe presenter 8 , subscription adobe captivate 6.  record application simulation within presenter, receive error after entering swf-name states captivate cannot started , check see if captivate configured run in administrator mode.
