Thread: Can't Permanently Disable Touchpad Tapping

i've seen pop in forums repeatedly no real resolution.

i'm running lubuntu 11.10 on dell latitude d510. hate tapping feature of touchpad haven't found way permanently disable it.

currently, start lubuntu open terminal screen , run:

"gpointing-device-settings"

terminal window shows: "an x error occurred. error badatom (invalid atom parameter)" , gpointing window opens.

click on alpsps/2 alps button "tapping" tab , see "disable tapping" button checked.

have uncheck, recheck button disable tapping. close windows , tapping disabled session only. every time restart computer have same thing.

how can make change permanent , why getting x error? thanks.
