Thread: Remove fake drives spaces in their names from /media

to remove 'ghost' drive with, example, underscore @ end 1 this:

sudo rmdir /media/hddname

does know how drives spaces in names? have 2 drives this. first, example, called '80gb oldc' shows in /media as
80gb oldc and
80gb\040oldc , used show as
80gb oldc_ had drive contents recursed below it, these drives have both vanished. can mount them in 'disk utility', however, i'm not worried them yet.

problem can't remove entries false named drives, , until remove '80gb oldc' can't mount actual drive or it'll called '80gb oldc_' , links & shortcuts won't match up.

i've tried copying name after listing directory in terminal, typing out, neither works. assistance gratefully received. thanks!
