Premiere Pro's #1 missing feature

i sent following fr adobe.  believe it's single biggest thing missing in pp.  if agree workflow, please support these ideas reposting them in own frs here: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish.

 

any tweaks suggest event better workflow?  please share!

fcpx , fcp7-style subclip creation

 

how feature work?

 

fcpx-style subclips:

1. 1. ability assign keyboard shortcuts bins (e.g. numbers 0-9 on keypad).
2. 2. while playing clip in source monitor, hitting 1 or more of these shortcuts automatically send whole clip or marked in/out range linked bin(s), without interrupting playback.
3. 3. easy reference, bins shortcut display shortcut in bin's name.  example, bin named 'interviews' automatically appear 'interviews {1}' if associated shortcut.

 

fcp7-style subclips:

1. 1. ability drag/drop trimmed clips timeline 1 or more bin, associated effects , keyframes.

 

important note: in order useful, these subclips have maintain flexible in/out points (i.e. ability trim in/out points out clip's original duration)

 

 

why feature important you?

being able organize/search partial clips in project window better doing in timeline since bins are: keyword searchable, sortable, , viewable in 2 modes (icon or list view). of all, easy subclip creation keep timeline free of non immediately-relevant media, since clips later use stored in bins instead of in timeline.

 

the lack of easy, flexible , intelligent subclip creation/organization in pp remains it's biggest shortcoming, imo.  pp's current method of creating subclips - can't created on fly source monitor, can't contain imbedded effects/keyframes, , can't have flexible in/out points - of little real world use.

 

adding fcpx , fcp7-style subclip creation/organization in premiere pro make editing easier most, if not all, editors: including documentary filmmakers lots of footage sort, music video editors want store b-roll clips later use, fcp editors migrating pp, , on , on!

given prevalence of tapeless media, every shot automatically creates new clip, think general use of subclips has declined in recent years.  think current method of creating subclips still use them sufficient, , feature require of adobe's limited resources better spent on other things.

 

the 1 part of request agree in/out points of subclip should adjustable in sequence without more effort dragging ends.  (thus transition added full sublcip automatically have needed handles.)
