Thread: 11.10 live CD problem
hi
having problems ubuntu 11.10 live cd. i've been happily running 10.04, thought i'd take @ unity.
insert live cd, grinds total halt message:
"ubuntu running in low graphics mode".
never had before, , i've no idea do. don't want mess current settings, involve using navidia graphics drivers.
suggestions, anybody?

it's tried live cd first, not directly jumped in installation.
if graphics adapter needs proprietary nvidia drivers, that's it! need have enhanced graphics. worries possibility of things going wrong after driver installation reasonable, if want try safely, may install 11.10 on usb flash drive first see how goes. of course make sure grub gets installed on usb itself, not on hard drive.
however, description suggests can't after message (system hangs permanently). if so, please try advance options: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/bootoptions
suggest boot options acpi=off, noapic, nolapic , nomodeset.
