Thread: Problems in sources.list

i started copying , pasting terminal , got this

e: type 'sudo' not known on line 55 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list
e: list of sources not read.
go repository dialog correct problem.
e: _cache->open() failed, please report.

somehow got internet working, please update manager won't work

hm, when commands mess system files, have put "sudo" first, makes administrator, long command takes execute. looks trying modify /etc/apt/sources.list, list of software sources, directly command-line, in order install new software, perhaps, , stuck sudo in wrong place!
that's error messages about, no harm done, though.
"update manager won't work" bit vague. errors giving you? system using, 11.10?
