Thread: Running too slow

i downloaded ubuntu 11.10 , made bootable cd.
first installed on pc desktop, running xp slow wanted use linux better speed.

surprise still running slow. maximizing , minimizing of windows takes lot of time.

thought might problem desktop, installed on laptop (by using virtualbox).

in virtual box, ubuntu again running very slow, while windows os working fine.

note: during installation prompted change color scheme 16 bit 32 bit. when checked settings, using 32 bit.

have no idea, why ubuntu os consider fast running slow.

please while using layman language new here.

what specs of desktop?

that's doesn't prove much. running os in virtualbox going slower 1 running on actual machine, if don't have vbox guest additions installed.
