Thread: VNC and keyboard remapping

i upgraded maverick oneiric , have been trying vnc , working again (with machine server). great many things have changed between 2 versions, biggest problem i'm having keyboard. both machine , machine i'm vncing in have qwerty keyboards remapped dvorak layout, when try type vnc, it's reverting qwerty. given both machines working correctly locally, i'm not sure start trying fix this. advice appreciated.

add confusion whole thing, tried type 'w' (capital). both qwerty , dvorak w keys give me < instead (which swap w). however, correct qwerty lower case both keys. of other remapped keys behave expected qwerty when capital. , capslock nothing whatsoever.

i'm having similar issues xubuntu 11.10. managed tab autocomplete work locally , through ssh, vnc tab key nothing (either autocomplete or trying tab in text document). read in forum can use "ctrl + i" , did work, i'm wondering why it's messed when use vnc session. tab key needs work properly, can't use ctrl+i auto complete, that's pain.
