Thread: broken video on RAID in 11.04

oh deary me!!! believe have haphazardly careened system bit of precipice , turning community save before bosh further , tumbles on edge oblivion...

wouldn't consider myself complete noob, more like: experienced enough myself in trouble (obviously), i'll explain best can, i've done far:

i'm running ubuntu 11.04 64-bit (strictly, no dual boot or other os) on software raid0 array (4x500mbsata). in own diy box nvidia pair of geforce gts 250 video cards. in attempt resolve issues 3 monitor setup not switching between 2d desktop on 3screens , 'fullscreen' mode 3d application on 1screen without crashing system (other issue entirely), reinstall proprietary drivers , had removed current (recommended), yet oddly not activated ones. after removal, rebooted , able purple screen big stripe of jumbled video garbage. since running on raid array, , installed alt installer, 'live cd' or bootrepair not option can't array mount (yes, tried). booting 11.04 64-bit alt install usb stick me far being able assemble array, mount , execute shell (so, know it's still there), as look, can't seem find clear info on going video drivers straightened out point. running apt-get update yields same "purple stripe-of doom" upon booting array.

next move?

seriously, system has ground halt , @ loss next.

need provide more details?

there simple way restore video drivers rescue shell , i'm missing it?

there file or script need post?

problems , gaffs of past have been easy fix or on, 1 seems flapping in breeze.

@ worst, burn /home folder few dvds , rebuild entire array, seems overkill.

please please please, stop me before rash!
