Thread: iMac audio out jack issue

i got new imac. it's dualbooting ubuntu 11.10 , lion nicely.

hunky dory aside audio out jack. imac speakers awful. i've got plugged little technics system give oomph, works fine lion. in ubuntu audio comes out internal speakers only. seems oblivious audio out jack.

ideas?

happy post info required not sure relevant. i've done little digging around , after few weeks feel i'm getting nowhere.

facing same problem...
managed sound quality screen speakers using 2 models:
422 mbp55 macbook pro 5,5
423 imac27 imac 27 inch
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

working since re-installed fglrx driver graphic card. using non-proprietary driver led no sound.

but...when plug headphones in jack, nothing changes , sound still comes screen.

, have awful watermark on screen (amd unsupported hardware)...

don't know if helps little...sorry english , poor knowledge, that's 2 cents!
