Illustrator CS6 (iMac) lagging/saving time finally improved.

i upgrade pc cs3 late 2012 imac 27" cs6:

 

processor  3.2 ghz intel core i5

nvidia geforce gtx 680mx 2048 mb

 

, have had lag problems others have experienced, disappointed cs6 , new imac

 

i upgraded 24gb ram , did not see of difference.

 

what has helped.....

 

1.  first have changed resolution 2048 x 1152 has reduced lagging effect significantly.

 

2.  turn off options in 'smart guides' smooth work flow - less flashing lines , snapping.  option down user needs though worth checking.

 

3.  when doing "save as" have unchecked options.  saving takes 1-2 secs rather 5-10. use 'foreversave 2' 5-10 minute incremental backups helps workflow.
