Thread: 11.10 kvm bridging - help please?

hi guys,

fresh 11.10 install, pretty results - per global everywhere...
1 glitch bothering me trying (and er, failing) use kvm bridged local network eth0...

i've found bunch of docs (including sticky) show how in /etc/network/interfaces 11.10 doesn't seem using config.
if try it, eth0 stops working , connections go out via br0

default there seems connection manager in top right menu, allows configuration of eth0, can't seem make br0 wrk...

suggestions gratefully received!

been doing more digging...as do...
looks there's thing "network manager" , bridged interfaces not playing nice together.

come across workarounds?

i've found bucketful of configs (all same) /etc/network/interfaces don't work on setup, strangely, can't thinking *ought* work.
method disables network manager managing network interfaces...not ideal.

perhaps 1 of steps far?
there many examples of "you can't x y, way", maybe 1 of them. sadly neither x nor y work in case.

still open suggestions!
