Thread: Virus? No access to google or redirected to suspicious sites

was having issue few weeks ago, see here. though rootkit ruled out. being redirected questionable websites when trying access google.com or gmail or using addressbar search in chromium. either or receive 404 errors. i've run clamtk , haven't found anything, followed dangertux's instructions in thread linked above, i'm having problem again. time i'm being redirected "b.aol.com" instead. uninstalled chromium, i'm running straight chrome in ubuntu 11.04. seems have solved problem time being, i'm worried since issue has come again might more serious. ideas???

hi again, sorry hear still having problems this.

said in our previous discussion, seems have visited hijacking browser.

unlikely more malign that. however, if still concerned can start playing option of reinstall. consider using extension notscripts, while browsing.

make sure using latest version of chrome/chromium. there have been several significant security updates on past few weeks may remedy problem.
