Thread: netbook sidebar disappeared

i have acer netbook running netbook version of lucid. ran today, totally normal, did system update via update manager (as always.) shut computer down, , when turned on again later, entire side navigation panel disappeared! can still open applications, can still plug in jump drive , have window pop open, of files seem still intact, happened navigation panel on left hand side??? part of update? how back? having things gui, doing stuff terminal pain. (n00b)
have tried restarting, updating again, right clicking on background , top bar, there no options when click background (right or left click.) not on autohide, top left ubuntu icon inactive.
have desktop background, top bar ubuntu icon (inactive) , shutdown options on far right of bar.
i'm confused.

just fyi< new update today seems have fixed problem. yay!

Joomal 3.6.3 update error - PHP temporary folder is not set - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
