Thread: De-Installing Grub2 from HDD

* have customer had install ubuntu
wubi, inside of windows xp.
* hd booting via dual-boot options on xp hd.
* customer has terabyte hd additional hd.
* apparently terabyte hd connected master.

* customer decided wants
ubuntu installed in separate partition "beside" windows xp.
* ( so, terabyte hd master (for data only)
, xp hd slave (with grub2 & wubi) )
* customer installed ubuntu terabyte drive,
along mbr , grub2.

now, finds terabyte hd booting first, giving options of
(1) ubuntu on terabye
(2) xp hd xp , ubuntu (wubi)

so, wants boot directly xp hd, again, last week.

problem #1:
how remove mbr terabyte hd
, make system boot xp hd (xp & ubuntu wubi).

problem #2:
on xp hd, ubuntu (wubi) giving out-of-space type error.
there setting give more container-space wubu ?
xp hd 80 g, 60 g unused.
why got terabyte hd , (apparently) connected master.

solutions ?
can remove mbr ?
network-error problem ?
(he has no network, standalone desktop)
(eth0 running ok, has firefox internet access).

you did not mention network error?

system ide? mention master/slave. newer bios let choose drive boot if sata. or can change master/slave settings. either jumpers on drives or locations on cable select.

best set grub boot windows first if wanted. can use grub customizer or manually edit grub.

howto: grub customizer updated grub 1.99
