Prefill or Autopopulate Form Fields - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i have data entry , update forms placed in articles. data entry form, accessed directly, works fine.
all records displayed user in sortable ari data table, has link each record pop in update form editing.
however, update form supposed appear pre-filled , not, although id indicated in ari data table link.
also, if enter data , submit, "404 error: article not found" instead of staying on page.
before putting data entry table jdatabase, worked. since i've had rewrite script , i'm falling short somewhere. think problem form or script on form page.
if has working script prefill form, please help? appreciated.

it may have sef url's on , not working correctly... consider turning off.
