Alpha channel basics from Canon 7D video
maybe i'm missing basic here, pretty new messing alpha layers/channels on video. otherwise have pretty understanding of alpha when comes animations, photos, etc.ffects
i trying make black in video of flames alpha layer can use them particles in after effects.
( in video http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorial/green_smoke/ )
i understand codec/format restrictions alpha channels, problem can't seem black come out alpha layer @ all.
i've tried quicktime none codec , flv , other formats supposed support alpha channels.
i think what's wrong format canon shoots in doesn't have alpha channel natively exporting video different formats not having effect. if case, how 1 go making black parts of video alpha channel.
i know there ways make green alpha channel (greenscreening). can't life of me figure out how premier or aftereffects recognize straight black alpha layer though.
i've looked @ 30 tutorials trying figure out, appear incapable of asking right question answer want.
there's export settings.
perhaps can point out gross missunderstanding of i'm trying do, or otherwise set me on right track.
below clip within aftereffects... arrow shows clip should have alpha properties... think, when turn off alpha channel dissapears.
do need d in aftereffects? dunno, i'm lost.
if thinks can willing make youtube video showing i'm doing.
pp never recognize black alpha channel. need eliminate black using luma key. long there's nothing else underneath, removed black encoded transparently alpha.
