hi guys, having built pretty god media server, i'd (finally) rip cds it. i've got spec machine can use client server. seems me cd ripping software insists on encoding rips - takes lot of time sitting @ client. there software tool rip natively (.wav files ?) disk. can set media server encode compress (i thinking of ogg format - that's flac) overnight/many days job. i not sure if server "mount" audio cd gnome does, if can read files on disk way, should possible copy them across folder *.wav files , transcode want later. have no idea if wav files still contain data , information ripper gets tracks in normal way, or if work @ all, throw out possible option more seriously. all, purchased new asus n75sf laptop, utilizes nvidia geforce gt 555m graphics chipset. chipset uses nvidia's optimus technology managing gpu load between discrete gpu , onboard intel chipset. getting ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) installed on new laptop has, far, been without success. nomodeset addition in grub, can ubuntu installed, fails recognize nvidia card (no unity 3d; no correct screen resolution). have tried use both bumblebee , ironhide, these appear unstable solutions (no luck far getting either solution hibernate/resume without hanging system). understandably, these pretty new approaches. given state of optimus support, i'd happy disable 3d acceleration entirely if can stable 2d environment run. ufortunately, bios n75sf not permit disabling of either graphics chipset. this: a) run ubuntu on asus n75sf without 3d acceleration (at moment, don't care , can wait until stable drivers made native platform) b) hibernate/...

i have thought logically, object @ 100% opacity filled 25% brightness gray (rgb 67/67/67) same 100% black (rgb 0/0/0) @ 75% opacity. on pure white background, using normal transfer mode, different.   can educate color dumbness , why photoshop cs6 displays these differently? 25% brightness gray in 8-bit per channel rgb (64, 64, 64), not (67, 67, 67). hi guys, i installed latest version of msi afterburner , happy see able set 2 audio sources record. i'm not sure when feature added forgive me if in previous version have not used in while. in past since did not have stereo mix option on sound card , using usb headset (so stereo mix useless anyway) forced use virtual audio cable , set audio repeaters wanted record. kind of pain. anyway, recorded game of dota2 last night after having set msi afterburner record headset , microphone. had tested out make sure recording both sources prior doing making short few seconds recording blah blah blah , opening uncompressed .avi file in windows media player. confirmed both sources recorded. the resulting dota2 recorded game approximately 43 gb in size. when open file in windows media player can hear both sources of audio fine. meaning in-game audio microphone. however when open file in adobe premiere pro cs5.5 audio track showing in there microphone audio. no in-game audio present throughout en...

i working in lr 3.  exported pictures email.  went lr after checked proper export , of pictures, catalogs , gone.  4 pictures exported there in lr.  1. happened 2. how find entire lr catalog pictures? thanks! you accidentally created new catalog, or accidentally moved catalog file.   in lightroom, select file->open recent, , full catalog should 1 of listed.   or, if doesn't work, in operating system, search entire hard disk(s) *.lrcat, if finds anything, double-click on it.
