i have small creative dept uses illustrator cs5.1 v15.1.0. each system has own registered version of software.   computer 1 create file, save , can open fine. however, computer 2 , computer 3 can not open file. can see on network drive, error "the file not readable."   troubleshooting that's happened:      • it's not permissions issue, know of. "get info" shows ability read , write of same files.      • files saved using same settings in "save" menu used on other 2 systems      • systems running same system software      • files saved on network drive, , opened there, if file copied locally, still not open.   computer 2 , computer 3 can share , open files fine.   thoughts? don't open files directly networked drive, usb stick or other removable media.   illustrator not cooperate networks. hello! have 2 ubuntu copies located @ 1 hard drive. first copy located in /dev/sda1. ext4 bootable partition. second partition container logical partitions. devided 3 logical partitions. first logical partition ext4 fs type , contain second copy of ubuntu. 2 other partitions swaps ubuntu first , second. how can safely remove second ubuntu copy , allocate disc space first ubuntu copy? thanks! if allocating space mean extend /dev/sda1 include space, it's not simple. first need delete partition containing second copy of ubuntu. once unallocated space, need shrink extended partition /dev/sda2 doesn't include unallocated space. once unallocated space "outside" of extended partition, have extend /dev/sda1 include it. easier option format partition second ubuntu, run sudo update-grub grub delete second copy boot menu, , use newly formatted partition separate mount point, example /data. accessible ma...

help! i'm running indesign cs6 (version 8.0.1 on mac os 10.8.2) , having problems re-exporting pdfs.  first time around no problem, if need update pdf (ie, save on original pdf) i'm left staring @ multicoloured beachball of despair 5 minutes.  eventualy sorts out , produces (perfectly good) pdf.  makes no difference if export pdf under different name, different location or onto different drive. similarly, can rename indesign file, result same.   any ideas? hey all, have raid 5 setup on home server, setup through gnome disk utility. server stopped booting couple days ago, figured time setup new version of ubuntu (although hoping wait 12.04). able access files of drive though live cd, , trying backup needed configuration file in order raid on new os default detects drives not allow me bring array, saying there not enough devices connected. not mdadm conf file, checked that, not sure file is. have ideas? hello loving edge interface animation, still little confused after built in tutorials. have pretty pictures explain.     so here scene, want play on mouse over. still little in dark on snippets use done properly. it looks need add labels , stop commands.   at begining of each animation add label "start1", "start2", "start3" (note each label name has unique).   at end of each little animation add stop trigger.   then on button add mouseover script.  can right clicking on button , scroll down "open actions for". once actions panel appear. click plus button , click on mouseover. there prompted add script. click on "play from" button found on right.  add code "sym.play(1000);" replace 1000 label name so: sym.play("start1"); (note label nam needs in "" or fail. space each animation out tiny bit. hello fellow adobeian,   i upgraded cs6 master suite in september 2012.  have done screative cloud if better informed.  question follows: acrobat has been upgraded within months of purchase guess not upgrade unless buy (seems should free upgrade since bought cs6ms before xi announced, digress)  since invested cs5, 5.5, 6 master suites within short span of time, there kind of price break somebocy me?  if upgrade creative cloud happens software have purchased?  become redundant? seams going forfit roi on copies of cs5.5 , cs6 ms?   basically incentive me move creative cloud have few thousand in hard software-- best price can move creative cloud? dbellas since have cs5, cs5.5, , cs6 can qualify upgrade pricing.  there feature enhancements available in several of applications available through creative cloud.  more details recommend reviewing http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud.html?promoid=jqpeq . i upgraded motherboard/processor/ram of 10.04 system weekend. have ubuntu linux box now. - kernel version 2.6.32-34-server - asrock 890fx deluxe5 motherboard - amd fx 4100 quad core processor - 8 gb ram (can't remember make) new board has realtek rtl-1111e onboard gigabit network device. works flawlessly except network. see output when "lspci -v", etc. won't load module apparently or doing wrong. out of desperation disabled onboard device , installed smc gigabit pci card had in spares. card has realtek rtl-8169 chip. card not work. strange thing (to me is) if boot 10.04 livecd network on either of these devices works fine. did searching , found out hitting esc while grub loaded select recover kernel. did , used option drop shell network. network came fine. lost. i've spent ton of time trying working on own , figured ask here. must have broken when trying compile , install network module card realtek's w...

something has bothered me since photoshop's beginnings in high resolution files, @ extreme screen magnifications, can't measure using rulers easily.  in other programs, magnify image on screen, ruler marks keep reading measurements. in photoshop, full inch readings, not fractions of inch.  if want draw guide @ 1/16" or find @ 1/16" in photoshop, see is: you have shrink image down find 1" line , zoom , count fractions find 1 looking for.   i know can use ruler tool, let's want paint, or select starting @ 1/16".  using ruler tool becomes problematic, when want see 1/16" on screen.   is there i'm missing, or can add jdi list next time? thanks. mine shows 32ths of inch @ same magnification:   More discussions in Photoshop General Discussion adobe
